LOGI-TOOLKIT: Toolkit for logistics planning in neighborhoods successfully completed

16. October 2025

The LOGI-TOOLKIT research project was successfully completed in March 2025. The project, which was supported by the BMK as part of the FFG funding line “Mobilität der Zukunft” developed a practical tool for planning urban logistics at the neighborhood level.

The aim of the project was to support municipalities and urban development stakeholders in identifying logistics needs at an early stage and deriving suitable measures for efficient and sustainable goods supply in neighborhoods. The LOGI-TOOLKIT combines methodological knowledge and evaluation aids into a compact toolbox that is available to municipalities, planning offices, and research institutions alike.

The project placed particular emphasis on the integration of logistics issues into urban planning – an area that has often been neglected in the past.

Various aspects of the project were presented at several specialist conferences, including the European Transport Conference (ETC 2023) and in the Springer anthology “Transport Transitions: Advancing Sustainable and Inclusive Mobility (TRAconference 2024)”.

The project team consisted of partners from the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, the IFZ – Interdisciplinary Research Center for Technology, Work and Culture, as well as other experts from the fields of planning, research, and practice.
